Bad Science
Everyone seems to be getting into the act of telling everyone else, what they can and cannot do. I'm all for non smoking sections in a restaurant, as long as they provide a smoking section in another part of the place. Do some people have a problem with smoke, such as asthmatics? No doubt about it! I have a problem with the perfume counters in department stores. Should they stop selling perfumes just because it gives me a major headache? Of course not. I walk through as quickly as my short, fat, little legs will carry me, or try to avoid the area all together.
When the Surgeon General of the United States gets on the "nanny" bandwagon, I have a serious problem. Shoot, I have a problem with the peanut butter banners as well. Common sense has taken a back seat to the "politically correct", and it's time to put a stop to the madness.
I'm quite sympathic to anyone who doesn't want to be around my cigarette, and will accommodate them, except in my own home. I'll even refrain from smoking in my car when a nonsmoker is riding with me. But if I'm going to a restaurant for a nice meal, I am paying for, I should be accommodated as well.
