Keep Politics Out of the Pulpit?

Evidently, these people are so afraid of a group called the Texas Restoration Project, even that bastion of freedom(sarcasm inserted), Americans United For Separation of Church and State are getting into the act. Since the founding of this great country, pastors have been encouraging their congregations to get involved in the political process in one way or another. Only when some yahoo latched onto five little words found in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to a Baptist Church, did it become a sticking point for churches to discuss anything relating to politics. "Separation of church and state" can NOT be found anywhere in the Constitution, yet, for reasons beyond my understanding, it has become the rallying cry for the far liberal left. In this article from the Dallas Morning News, the Texas Freedom Network is calling for "religious leaders to sign a pledge saying they will refrain from endorsing or appearing to endorse candidates or political parties and avoid involving their congregation with partisan organizations or campaigns". So, it should be "verbotten" for churches to urge their members to vote their faith? Contrary to what the libs want, people DO vote their faith. Personally, I won't vote for anyone who thinks the murder of unborn children is a "choice". If my church was ok with such a thing, I'd find a different church. I might be way off base, but hey, it's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it. I wouldn't mind seeing a Wisconsin Restoration Project. :)
