A Step in the Right Direction?

Well, it is, sort of. The election board has decided that Wisconsin voters can still vote if they promise to show up the day after an election with a photo I.D.
Voters without a driver's license could still cast a ballot on Election Day under action taken Wednesday by a state board.
Who's on this board anyway?

Is it so difficult to produce a driver's license with a picture? You have to get there somehow, right? Most people drive to the polls. If you're driving there without a valid driver's license, shouldn't you get a ticket? If a person can walk to the polls, then how hard is it to stick in your back pocket?
If the voter has neither a Social Security number nor a driver's license, they would be given a unique voter identification number before being allowed to vote.
I can make up numbers and names till the cows come home. It doesn't mean the "voter" is eligible.
Republicans who control the state Legislature have been pushing for voters to present photo identification at the polls for years. They say the measure would prevent voter fraud.
This is the same fraud the Democrats insist isn't happening. Although, it's amazing how many dead people voted in the last national election. Wonder who the zombies voted for?
Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle has vetoed their attempts three times, saying an ID requirement would keep poor people and the elderly who lack identification from the polls.
What an absolute crock! And the reasons are numerous, not to mention obvious!
