Plan B

Daylight for 'morning-after'
In 2003, a panel of FDA science advisers overwhelmingly approved over-the-counter sale of Plan B, a drug manufactured by Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. Plan B is highly effective in preventing pregnancies if taken the morning after sex.
Shouldn't "Plan A" prevent even more pregnancies, as in, just don't do IT? Yes, there are occasions of rape, which result in pregnancies, and I do understand that many women are unable to psychologically deal with that type of pregnancy. I honestly don't know how I feel about Plan B for those women. I'm torn... a little! The child shouldn't be punished for being conceived through one of the most horrible experiences a woman can face. "Products" of rape can grow up to be good people, with much to offer society. Why destroy their opportunity?
Plan B prevents pregnancies — hence fewer abortions. Nonetheless, abortion opponents have condemned it as an abortion pill.
Well, that's what it is! An abortion by drug.
In negotiating to release these contraceptive pills for over-the-counter sales, the FDA at first suggested limiting sale to people 16 and older. Next, it was 17 and older. Now, it appears that the FDA is prepared to approve the sale of Plan B to those 18 and older.
And those who are too young to buy beer have never gotten an older friend or family member to shop for them? Paleeez! Buying this drug forunderaged girls could become quite a lucrative business for some enterprising individuals.
