Dems Targeting Hispanics
I'm not Hispanic, but I am a member of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly so I get the occasional email about what's going on, locally and nationally. This morning, I get one linking to this webpage from Socorro Williams. Her question: What are we going to do? My question: Why didn't anyone think about this before? :/ I don't follow soccer, and am just vaguely aware of the big deal the World Cup is to a lot of people. (Although, I have to admit, I'm impressed with the stamina soccer players have, not to mention attractive attributes they acquire playing. :) Hey, I'm married, not dead!)
I've seen Socorro in action! At the Fond du Lac Hispanic Information Fair last month, I watched that lady silence a serious Hispanic lib. As Socorro tells it, Hispanic are very conservative, they just don't know that it's the Republican Party who are inline with their values, not the Democrats. And from reading this article, I can see why.
If the Republicans are serious about reaching out, then NOW is the time to do it. Those Hispanics who come here legally have nothing to fear from us, and should get all the support and encouragement they need to assimilate to American life.
The last paragraph really strikes me as ironic:
"Many Hispanic immigrants don't understand what Republicans and Democrats stand for," he said. "It is this community we are targeting. There is work to be done to help them understand who we are, to explain our core values of opportunity, responsibility and fair play."So, what ARE the "core" values of the Democrats? Do they actually have any? Other than death and intrusion! "Responsibility and fair play"? Say what????
