I rather liked this letter to the editor:
There is a better way to deal with terrorists It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback and criticize our nation's leaders, but some of us who experienced World War II are deeply troubled with what is happening to our military personnel fighting the terrorists. Ernie Pyle would never have done what our media has done to them. President Truman saw to it that our enemies surrendered ASAP by any and all means possible. Today, we have the technology to strike the places that are spewing hatred and advocating murder without killing innocents. Just like Truman warned the Japanese, the terrorists should be warned: "Give up Osama bin Laden and surrender," or else the places that advocate their war will be destroyed one at a time until peace is obtained. We have sacrificed too many of our men and women with house-to-house street fighting in the triangle of death. There's a better way to hasten the end of hostilities. We found that out 60 years ago.
