Jimmy Carter - GO AWAY!

When U.S. presidents leave office, they should do it tactfully. If only former President Jimmy Carter would do so! Unfortunately, he keeps turning up, almost on a daily basis, like the proverbial "bad penny". Carter: Bush Israel's 'worst ally' in D.C.

Carter said the United States should work for an immediate cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah and the world community should concentrate on a long-term solution, but he is uncertain whether Bush can accomplish a cease-fire.

Yes, Carter was so successful in his endeavors, Anwar Sadat was assassinated. Obviously, this wasn't the only reason that Sadat was targeted, but it sure didn't help. Also, giving away the Panama Canal was one of the highlights of his presidency, not to mention the double digit unemployment.

"It depends on whether world opinion is strong enough to get the administration to change its erroneous policy, which has been to encourage the continuation of attacks on both sides," Carter, a Democrat, told The Grand Rapids Press in an interview Friday.

World opinion? Here's a "who gives a happy crap" about "world opinion"? There's right, then there's wrong. Carter is known for his being wrong.

"In my opinion, maybe the worst ally Israel has had in Washington has been the George W. Bush administration, which hasn't worked to bring a permanent peace to Israel," Carter told the newspaper.

Carter, who is probably the WORST president this country ever had, is entitled to his opinion. It would be nice, however, if he would go back to Georgia, grow his peanuts, and leave the real world to REAL leaders. H/T: Shining City Atop a Hill
