No, You Can't Come Home
On the Washington Times blog:
Sen. Carl Levin suggested in a television interview Tuesday morning that President Bush is deliberately ignoring the recommendation of his field commanders and refusing to bring U.S. troops home for political reasons. The top-ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee accused Mr. Bush of working out of Âthe Karl Rove playbook to make Democrats look weak on the war. Unfortunately with comments as dumb and politically transparent as this, Democrats continue to make themselves look weak and confused about the war  without any help from Mr. Rove. The country could benefit from an honest, thoughtful debate about Iraq and where we go from here, but this isnÂt it. Meanwhile, Mr. Rove is getting rested and ready for the fall campaigns.  Fran Coombs, Managing Editor, The Washington TimesOne comment caught my eye:
Yomi Okanlawon Says: We are not surprised. Democrats in general but especially the liberal wing of their party have never risen to the occasion in times of war. Every student of American history knows this. Look at their records. It speaks for itself. In war times, despite its inadequacies, Republicans have demonstrated time and again, that they have the will, resolve and determination to protect lives and properties of the United States. The basic problem with Democrats is they love to be Âanything just to win the election. It is like wetting the index finger and ticking it in the air to see where the wind blows. Democrats generally do not cause things to happen, they follow events.I wonder where this person is studying American History. Odds are, it's not in the U.S. because the libs have changed history to fit their ideals in the public schools.
