California

Jill Stewart, of the San Francisco Chronicle, took a good look at the California legislature's excess of "laws". It's amazing how all levels of government are doing the same thing: making up nitpicking laws that do nothing to improve the life of one single person. You could apply what is said here to any state government, and even, yes, the Federal government. I've always been of the mind that we need only TEN major laws, with a few added to cover the highways, like "Thou shalt not tailgate". It sure would make life a lot simpler for all involved, but hey, that's just my opinion. If we managed to cut down all the absurd laws that have been enacted in the last 60 or 70 years, imagine just how much money the gub'mint could save.
