FEMA

Big discovery.... any time the federal government has anything to do with money, it gets all screwed up. No kidding. Gee, this is news. HUMPH! It seems to me if you put a dollar in any government official's hand, something is going to go wrong. Since they are the most INEFFICIENT entity at managing money, you'd think someone would have gotten the message a long time ago. The big shocker: FEMA passed out $1.4 BILLION in "bogus assistance to victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, getting hoodwinked to pay for season football tickets, a tropical vacation and even a divorce lawyer, congressional investigators have found." But yet, we still keep right on giving them the authority to deal with natural disasters. Why?? It's a proven fact that the majority of such assistance should be in private hands that actually DO what they are suppose to do. The Red Cross, Operation Blessings, The Salvation Army, etc., know how to run such programs. The federal government does not! They know how to waste money, REAL well, but that's about it. It's not the job of government help pick up the pieces of people's lives. It is the purpose of the many charitable organizations to give this sort of help. If FEMA really wants to help the people of these disasters, then the best thing they could do would be turn the money over to the REAL charities and GET OUT OF THE WAY!
