Get Involved

Have you notice that people are all enthusiastic when talking about politics, and how they want to get invovled in the process, but when they have the opportunity, they're AWOL. Now I know many counties in the state have a very active political party, Washington County to name only one. They are enthusiastic and very involved in the community, having all kinds of events and fundraiser. Now don't get me wrong, Fond du Lac County has a great team, very involved in all aspects of the campaign process. We have a core group of people who are always ready to volunteer, to attend any and all events, and give as generously of their time and money. And this is great! Very much appreciated by all of us. But it's always the same people who do attend, who walk in the parades, that volunteer to do the door to door, the phone banks, manning the HQ, and just generally being there when we need warm bodies. Then there are the others. They pay their dues, and say "Give me a call, I'll be happy to help!", but are never available to chip in with any amount of time at all. One thing I've been trying to get through to people is this is a war! Perhaps not the same kind of war that's going on in Iraq or Afghanistan, but a war none the less. We are battling for our very survival against though who are fighting to destroy out country. To turn it into a "workers paradise". This, I will not tolerate! This country wasn't founded on socialism, so why are there so many (on the left) who seem to believe that some form of socialism is needed to keep us from achieving our full potential? It's never worked before, why should it work now? Well, they've never really tried it the right way is one excuse I've heard. Right way? And those who are pushing it now think they can create a "Great Society" where no one owns anything, we must bow to the church of liberalism, and no matter what a man does, or doesn't do, he should be equal to the man who has worked hard all his life, yet give at least half of everything to someone who sits on his ass and does nothing. We're being pushed farther and farther down that path of destruction. And it is time to fight back! We have some great candidates running for office, and the election isn't really that far off. I encourage everyone to get involved. NOW Before it's too late. Ok, I have a personal reason for posting this.... mainly had to get it off my chest. Thanks for understanding.
