Presidential Race '08

Oddly enough, even though the midterm elections haven't even been won or lost yet, I'm thinking farther into the future, to 2008. There are some fairly decent choices out there, but in truth, we won't get to make any decisions about who actually runs. I know who I DON'T want to see on that ballot: Hillary Rohdam Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, John McCain, Michael Bloomberg, etc. If it came down between Hillary (I didn't have enough time to get all the goodies out) Clinton and John (let's make nice) McCain, I'd have to go with McCain. But there's another who has stepped forward, from the masses, and volunteered to run. His name is Disgruntled Truck Driver. Believe it or, I'm actually thinking of, when the time comes to write in his handle on the ballot. He's got some good ideas, and some plain ol' common sense. Here's his Platform:

Vote for me in 2008!

I have always wanted to get into politics, one of my dreams has always been to run for Congress. However, in this day and age of unlikely Presidential Candidates, such as Hillary Clinton, Newt Gingrich, Al Gore and John Kerry, I figure why not throw my hat in the ring?

I honestly believe I have as much chance of becoming President as Hillary! Why shouldn't I give it a shot, if she is going to? I don't know how many signatures I need, but I imagine it's a lot. So, I ask that you send people to this post and have them leave a comment in support of my nomination. Although I have been a lifelong Republican, I have been dissatisfied with the lack of direction within the party as of late. So, I will also be starting my own party called The Personal Responsibility Party or PRP. The party will be a "Big Tent" party, we don't have to agree on every little thing, but if you believe that most problems can be solved with a little common sense, this is the party for you! The following is a rough outline of what the party stands for: 1. No more income, FICA, Medicare or Social Security taxes will be deducted from peoples pay. Instead we will implement My Tax Plan. 2. We will also implement my plan for ending poverty in America. 3. Expansion of the death penalty to include rape of a child and support of or membership in a terrorist organization. 4. Repealing the vast majority of gun control laws. 5. Placing restrictions on the Judiciary and removing Judges that make rulings that fly in the face of the Constitution and common sense. 6. Everyone will be held responsible for their own actions. Finally, here are the top ten reasons why I should get your vote: 10. You'll never wonder where I stand on any issue, because I am too stubborn to keep it to myself or beat around the bush. 9. I believe that we can become energy independent if we simply tell the tree huggers to take a hike. 8. There will be no sex scandals surrounding my Presidency, because I am head over heels in love with my wife! 7. I will not take any vacations while in office and I will work 6 days a week. 6. Even if you disagree with me, I will listen to your point of view. 5. I will build up our Military and let the world know we are not to be messed with. 4. I will appoint "real people" to my cabinet. No more "Washington insiders". 3. I will not hide under my desk, I will be out front dealing with each and every issue. 2. I will not be afraid to embarrass any Congressman or Senator that tries to "play politics" with your life. 1. I will NEVER lie, because I really suck at it! As we get closer to the election, I will post more about my positions on the issues. Thank you in advance for your support. My campaign slogan is: Don't be disgruntled, vote for the Disgruntled Truck Driver!

My plan for ending terrorism.... I have a simple plan to end terrorism, it's not pretty, but I think it would be effective. 1. If you are a terrorist and you are caught alive on the battlefield, you will be tortured for any information. Then you will be killed. 2. All captured once dead, will have their bodies wrapped in a pigs carcass and left in the sun to deteriorate on some island somewhere. Once these people know they will be tortured, killed and disrespected in death they will have a much harder time finding new recruits.

Works for me! So, early in the "game", I'm going to throw my support for the Disgruntled Truck Driver! :)
